By accessing or using Videx ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Videx is a web application that generates structured notes and summaries from YouTube video transcripts using artificial intelligence. The Service is provided "as is" and may be modified or discontinued at any time.

3. User Accounts

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• One person or entity may not maintain multiple free accounts

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to process videos you do not have rights to access
• Circumvent usage limits or rate limiting mechanisms
• Use automated tools to access the Service without permission
• Redistribute or resell generated content commercially without attribution
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service

5. YouTube Content

The Service processes publicly available YouTube transcripts. We do not host or redistribute YouTube videos. Your use of content obtained through the Service must comply with:

• YouTube Terms of Service
• Applicable copyright laws
• The original content creator's rights

Generated notes are for personal, educational use. Commercial use of notes from copyrighted content may require permission from the original creator.

6. Subscription and Billing

• Free tier — Limited monthly videos with maximum length restrictions (see pricing page for current limits)
• Paid tiers — Billed monthly through Stripe, with increased limits
• Cancellation — You may cancel anytime; access continues until the end of your billing period
• Refunds — We do not offer refunds for partial months; contact us for exceptional circumstances
• Price changes — We will notify you 30 days before any price increases

7. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain ownership of any content you create using the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process and store content as necessary to provide the Service.

Our Content

The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Videx. You may not copy, modify, or reverse engineer any part of the Service.

8. AI-Generated Content

Notes and summaries are generated by artificial intelligence and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. You should:

• Review generated content before relying on it
• Not use generated content as a sole source of factual information
• Verify important information against the original video

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months
• We are not responsible for the accuracy of AI-generated content

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Videx from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. Upon termination:

• Your access to the Service will be revoked
• You may request a copy of your data within 30 days
• We may delete your data after 30 days

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which we operate. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration.
